Since launching this newsletter, I've frequently discussed the new generation of weight loss drugs, originally developed for diabetes management, which are now making headlines. With these medications becoming a staple, businesses are seeing the opportunity to complement their effects. Nestle is stepping up by introducing a food line designed specifically for Americans using GLP-1 meds like Wegovy and Ozempic. GLP-(Glucagon-Like Peptide-) medications are a class of drugs primarily used to treat type 2 diabetes and, more recently, for weight management. These drugs work by mimicking the action of the natural hormone GLP-1 that your intestine releases after eating. This hormone helps regulate blood sugar in several ways:
Increasing Insulin Production: GLP medications stimulate the pancreas to produce more insulin when blood sugar levels are high. Insulin helps move sugar from the blood into the cells, lowering blood sugar levels.

Climate Change is Increasing Turbulence
I must admit, while I love the allure of new destinations, flying is a different story. I often get incredibly nervous on flights, enough to concern nearby passengers who notice my tension. Recently, during a flight from London to Singapore, my fears were validated by extreme turbulence that resulted in one fatality and several injuries, with some passengers requiring hospitalization in Thailand. This unexpected event took everyone by surprise, adding to the anxiety of air travel. Those in the restroom and unbuckled hit the ceiling of the airplane so hard that it caused dents!
Turbulence will continue to be an issue with climate change. Please remember to stay buckled whenever possible on your flights.
